HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER PROGRAM
PROGRAM INFORMATION
Our summer high school program focuses on providing each player the opportunity to train, learn, and compete at the high school level and beyond. This is a player development FIRST program designed for those who have the ambition to be impact players at the high school level, along with aspirations of playing college baseball. In addition to local and out-of-state competition, players have access to our instructors, organized team activities, year-round membership to our indoor facility, The Futures App training platform and more!
ROSTER SELECTION
Ralston Valley players who are registered for summer baseball will be evaluated by the Diamond Club coaching staff, along with input from the Ralston Valley coaching staff. This collaborative process will lead to the ultimate goal of this partnership: To find the best fit for each athlete to maximize his opportunity for repetitions, experience, skill development, and competition.
Winter Tryouts - All underclassmen Ralston Valley players, including current 8th graders, are encouraged to attend Diamond Club Select and/or Rockies Scout Team tryouts held periodically throughout the winter.
Spring Tryouts - Evaluations for registered players who do not participate in winter tryouts will be held at the conclusion of the spring season. Date TBA.

COMPETITION
The Diamond Club Select and Rockies Scout Teams seek out tournaments that offer high-level competition and exposure. Locally, teams will play a combination of tournaments including V Tool, who provides great social media coverage for players. We will also play a handful of games within the program during the week as schedules allow.
Travel trips include Perfect Game, PBR, and V Tool national tournaments in places such as Arizona, California, Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina offer players the chance to test their abilities against some of the best programs in the country. Schedules vary by team.
FAQ
Will Ralston Valley players be grouped together?
When possible, we will place RV players together on rosters according to their evaluated level of play. We believe this builds team chemistry for the program. Registration numbers, skill level, and position specific needs (i.e. pitching) will drive how rosters are structured. Players from other high school programs will be a part of our DC Select rosters as well. Ultimately, athletes will be placed on a roster that best helps him develop as a baseball player.
What will roster sizes look like?
These vary by age group but typically, our summer rosters consist of 14-16 players. Scout Team rosters and travel rosters for certain events may extend to 18 if we are carrying players that only pitch (17/18U level usually).
Is my player eligible to be chosen for one of the Rockies Scout Teams?
Absolutely. In fact, we have a rich history of Ralston Valley players being key members of these clubs. The Scout Team Program is represented by 40+ high schools throughout the state of Colorado.
Are all Ralston Valley players guaranteed a summer roster spot?
No. While we would like to make room for everyone, the competitive nature of club baseball, along with roster sizes, tournament scheduling, practice scheduling, travel arrangements for certain clubs, etc. dictate that we must have a cutoff date for registrations. That date will be determined in the spring and communicated to members of the RV program. Therefore, it is highly suggested that interested players attend one of our winter tryout dates in November.
What will the summer season cost?
Fees vary by team. They range from approximately $1800 for teams that don't travel (usually our 15U squads), to $4500 for the Rockies Scout Teams. The cost discrepancies are directly related to varying tournament fees (i.e. a local Colorado Classic tournament vs. a Perfect Game national tournament) and travel trips. Team fees do include airfare, hotel, and ground transportation. When a player receives a roster specific offer, those fees and inclusions associated with that team will be communicated to you.
What is the practice schedule?
Most weeks, teams will hold practices on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We will use Ralston Valley, Long Lake, Lutz, Prospect Park, and our indoor facility. Players are encouraged to attend practices and workouts. We do realize that work schedules, summer football workouts, etc. do factor into availability. We expect players to communicate to the coaching staff as to their availability. In addition, players should find time to work on skills and lift on their own.
